Candlewick Notes

Traditional Candlewick designs are thicker knots to give it more of a traditional, hand stitched look. I tested the designs at high speed on my Bernina with no problems at all. However, you may want to slow your machine down because it does does make a lot of noise!

The pictures of the candlewick designs are scans of my test sew outs. The designs were tested using either:

Muslin and tear away stabilizer and/or
Muslin, 100% cotton batting and tear away stabilizer.

Please note that if you are using the designs for quilting rather than just decorative purposes, you still need to use a tear away or wash away stabilizer. If you use just batting the stitches will not line up because the batting stretches so add a piece of stabilizer and the stitches will line up perfectly!

Candlewick and Patchwork Embroidery Designs

Candlewick Quilt embroidery designs in your choice of two styles, Feather and Traditional. Each style comes with three sizes: 4x4, 5x5 and 6x6. The designs sew out beautifully and with no jump stitches.

Feather Style Candlewick: This is the usual machine embroidery candlewick style. These designs are very pretty and sews out quickly!

Traditional Style Candlewick: This is as close to hand candlewick as you can get on an embroidery machine. These designs are gorgeous! The knots are twice as thick as the usual machine embroidery candlewick designs. Of course, it will take a little longer to stitch these out but it's well worth the time!
