In-the-Hoop Quilted Mini Notebook Covers

5x7 Hoop:  $15 each
Embroidery Design:  7.25" high x 5.27" wide

If you're like me and like to carry a little notebook with you to jot down those important notes then you'll love this little notebook cover.  I like to carry a couple of 5" x 3" notebooks but I'm tired of the same old boring notebooks so I decided to make notebook covers!

These are so easy and quick to make that you'll want to make several:

  • One for just miscellaneous info

  • One for patterns you have and those you want

  • One for sewing machine attachment and accessories you have and the ones you want.  Now you'll never buy duplicates when you happen upon a sale.

  • Of course, you'll need a little notebook for the fabric swatches in your stash so you always know what you have and can match them with other fabrics.

Turn a boring 5" x 3" notebook into
a fun notebook with these quilted covers!

Note:  Your embroidery field must be at least 7.25" x 5.27".  This design will not work with the Bernina oval hoop.  I had to dig out my old embroidery module so I could use my oblong hoop.  I've always wondered why Bernina came out with an oval hoop.  I never embroider anything oval.  Do you?

These Flying Geese are pieced in the the hoop and quilted with a grid pattern.

I decided to have fun with this one so I added some funky vintage buttons to the ribbon page marker.

These flying geese are also pieced in the hoop but quilted with stippling.

I also added 3 elastic loops that will hold a pen plus keep the book closed!

The stippling didn't show up very well in the photo of the finished cover
so here's a shot of the inside of the notebook before it's turned
wrong side out so you can see what the stippling pattern looks like.
