In-the-Hoop
Carrying Cases for the iPod Nano

Nano Wrap Case
Large Hoop:  Design Size is 5.19" x 9"

$25.00

While my daughter was home for Christmas she told me that she had been looking for a feminine but not too girly or juvenile case for her iPod  nano but couldn't find one that met all her requirements.  It turns out that the manufactures idea of feminine iPod Nano case is a pink leather case.  Must be men designing the cases, eh?  Well, leave it to mom to come up with a case more to my daughter's liking and, since she is her mother's daughter, she had definite ideas of what she wanted in a case.  So, this in-the-hoop iPod Nano case has the following features:

  1. Large enough opening to turn the iPod on/off without breaking a nail;

  2. Dust cover for the computer connection but it had to flip open so she wouldn't have to take the iPod out of the case;

  3. Vinyl windows for the screen and click dial;

  4. Plenty of padding to protect the iPod;

  5. Pocket for headphones; and

  6. Wrist strap.

Didn't want too much, did she?  Oh, and she left me with lots of fat quarters she liked so I can whip her up a few cases so more photos will be coming soon.

This design is for the "Nano".  Cases for the iPod and Shuffle coming soon!

Here's the case as it would look when you swing it up from
carrying position to view the screen or use the control.  Notice the
vinyl windows protecting the screen and click dial.  I also used two layers
of batting so there's plenty of protection for the iPod.

The case closes with Velcro and I used a ribbon for the strap.
The bow is tied on and slides up and down the strap so it will fit securely
on the wrist.  Of course, you could use some beads for the slide and on the strap.

A view of the reverse side of the case.

Here's the side with an eyelet to attach a wrist strap.

A view of the case as it would be carried.

Here's a shot of the flip open tab so the iPod can be connected to the computer
without removing it from the case.

And here's the pocket.  You might be thinking it looks like it's upside down
but it's right side up when the case is being carried on the wrist.

Dust cover closed and the ear buds plugged in.

And, of course, a large enough opening to easily turn the iPod on and off.

The iPod nano case is quick and easy to make and comes with complete instructions with photos of each step.  Just change the fabric to a more masculine theme such as sports, men's shirting, nylon for that high tech look and it would be a wonderful case for the man in your life.  I think the case would also make a great craft bazaar item!

Nano Lanyard Case

5x7 Hoop:  $25

I've had a lot of requests for a Nano iPod case to fit the 5x7 hoop so here it is!  It's a cozy little bag for your Nano with all the features of the Nano wrap case:

  1. Large enough opening to turn the iPod on/off without breaking a nail;

  2. Dust cover for the computer connection with convenient opening Velcro opening so you don't have to take the iPod out of the case;

  3. Vinyl windows for the screen and click dial;

  4. Padded to protect the iPod;

  5. Pocket for headphones; and

  6. Eyelets for a neck strap.

Protective Cover

Velcro closing protects the connection for computer or charger.  Headphone jack easily slips into the opening next to the Velcro closure.

You can easily charge your iPod or download songs
without ever removing it from the case!

Nice large opening for the pause button.
The bottom of the case is sewn together so there's no fear of
the case coming open when it's around your neck.

Optional pocket on the back for holding the headphones.

Of course if you want to wear this on your wrist rather than around your neck
all you have to do is shorten the cord!
